Caffè Nero extends online range with coffee capsule packaging by ProPrint Group...
Coronavirus has meant huge changes for all of us like we've never experienced before. We’re having to work at an incredible rate to pull the stops out and react to changed needs and demands. It has made us realise what we can achieve when we truly need to.
ProPrint Group have adjusted operations efficiently with the calm and confident leadership of the management team. It has been vital to protect staff, production lead times and material supplies. Just as critical, is that we continue our excellent standard of service so we can help our customers adapt too.
Caffè Nero approached ProPrint Group Cartons division contact, Josh Purnell. The team needed to print new coffee packaging to promptly extend the online offering following store closures during lockdown.
The new range of 4 single origin coffee packs are now available from the Caffè Nero online shop.
Coffee lovers can now get through lockdown and home-working with access to many more of their preferred coffee options. The Caffè Nero online capsule range now incorporates: Classico & Decaffeinated Signature House blends, the Napoletano Special blend, as well as Single Origin capsules - including Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Peruvian varieties.
Litho Printing & Finishing
The coffee packaging uses a vibrant range of foils. These identify each of the 4 recently added coffee capsule variants - Single Origins Ethiopian, Guatemalan, and Peruvian, as well as Special Blend Napoletano, a crafted blend that brings out the traditional Italian coffee flavours from the South.
Each distinctive foil was carefully selected by the Caffè Nero team in consultation with Kurz, ensuring a beautiful result accurately portraying each unique coffee provenance.
ProPrint Group manufactured the carton-board boxes using lithographic printing on our Komori Lithrone press. We printed a rich combined black for depth and quality. The team then coated with a durable, subtle matt varnish.
This ensured that the carefully selected foils would "pop", giving a luxury presentation representative of the high quality of coffee within.
The construction of the box for the coffee capsules used a one side double-coated solid bleached cartonboard (SBB), Algro Design®.
The board selection provided many benefits for coffee packaging in particular. This included a high resistance to ageing as well as a fresh and clean look for a stylish printed finish.
It also provided optimum rigidity and excellent converting properties. The result was an impeccably precisely finished pack by the ProPrint team. This was of importance for the final appearance of course, but also for the particular engineering of the cutting profile, designed specifically for packing using an encased machine.
